We might be distant from each other physically, but we needn't be spiritually - and we certainly need not be distant from God...

Prayers of Intercession
Offered by George Barnes
As a family, you could take a sheet of paper and write GOD on it. Start with a big square in the middle and make that into the O, then draw in the G and D.
Then talk together about who needs God's help at the moment. Write them into the O as a reminder that God is bigger than the problems and as a prayer that God would surround them and help them.
Introduction: Pressing On
Worship Band with Congregation:
Readings: Mark 1.4-11 & Acts 19.1-7
Read by David Cammack in the NKJV
John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
Now John was clothed with camel’s hair and with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And he preached, saying, “There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose. I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”
So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?”
So they said, “Into John’s baptism.”
Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Now the men were about twelve in all.
Questions to Talk About
Look at the readings: What is special about being baptised in Jesus' name?
How do you think the Holy Spirit might help us to press on and know Jesus?
Have a look at the video below about Paul - how did he know Jesus?
Print and colour this page showing Jesus' baptism. As you colour it in talk to Jesus: tell him how and why you want to know him. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you know him.

Offertory & Covenant Prayers
I am no longer my own but yours.
Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will;
put me to doing, put me to suffering;
let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you,
exalted for you, or brought low for you;
let me be full, let me be empty,
let me have all things, let me have nothing:
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal.
And now, glorious and blessèd God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
you are mine and I am yours.
And the covenant now made on earth,
let it be ratified in heaven.
