Prayer Points
· Plans for repairs to the Ansell Centre are well in hand and it is hoped work will start this week. Pray for clarity as arrangements for the work are made, that it might minimise disruption and ensure safety.
· Pray for our Mothering Sunday Service, who you might invite and for Charlotte Woodmore, as she is confirmed and makes her profession of faith.
· Give thanks for Michele Farley, who willingly stood and was elected by Church Meeting as an Elder. Pray for her as she prepares to serve in this important role.
Notices for the Week
· Mothering Sunday is next Sunday. There will be craft activities for young people (with their parents/carers) in the Community Room form 10.30-12noon on Saturday 13th March. The children will be able to make things for their mothers and they will prepare the posies for the Sunday service.
The Sunday service will be for all ages and will include flowers, songs, dance, story and food. Please invite your friends and neighbours. Jim.
· Lent Study Groups “When I Survey Christ’s Cross and Mine.” continue this week. We will reflect on ‘The Child on the Cross’. It will be led by Jim Dalgleish. If attending at Thursday lunchtime, please get there in time to sort lunch and drinks for a prompt start at noon.
· Property Stewards (Managers) will meet at 7.30pm on Monday the 8th March in the Adventurers’ Room. Graham.
· Pay Attention! Says Joel, the subject of the “A-Z of the Old Testament” group. His message? Come and find out on Monday 15th March, 7.30pm at 16 Weavers Close. (If possible, read Joel (only 3 chapters) beforehand. More details - Milly (827895).
Lent Challenge
This week’s Lent Challenge is to help out our neighbour in need, by giving something away to a charity shop. Don’t forget last weeks’ Lent Challenge to help the poorest in society by buying FairTrade goods. If you haven’t yet managed to carry out the Challenge for the 1st week in Lent, it was to tidy your house or someone else’s. It’s sets our theme for Lent, which is to clean up our lives, so that we are right with God.
