Discipleship

Is an integral part of Christian life.

As Christians, our aim is always to grow more and more like Jesus, our Saviour. This is our ongoing journey of discipleship. At Hadleigh URC we provide various meetings and groups where we can come together to learn more about our faith and grow in love and understanding. Here are brief details of some of those opportunities:

What do you think over a drink? This is a group for men to discuss serious topics of interest. We meet in the back room of The George Public House, usually on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 8pm.

Film Discussion Group
Having previously circulated and watched a current film on DVD, we meet at 7.30pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month to discuss the moral, social and spiritual themes that the film has dealt with. We meet in various homes and the venue changes from month to month.

Vision4Life
This small study group is looking at different aspects of prayer and helping us to build up a varied and productive prayer life. It meets monthly, usually on a Wednesday evening.

A to Z of the Old Testament
This group meets on a Monday evening and is a Bible Study group, that currently is finding out what some of the Old Testament characters have to teach us about God.

The Thursday Group
This group has a focus of testimony, on how faith impacts lives. Each month, after a short time of worship, a speaker will share something of their faith journey and how God has worked in their lives. The group usually meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in the Community Room.

Sunday Club
This is a group for children from babies up to 10 year olds. It meets on a Sunday morning from 10.30am. The young people start off in church and after a short time of praise they go out to their own age related activities. They join with their parents for refreshments at about 11.30am.

Explorers
Young people, aged 11 and over, meet on a Sunday morning at 10.30am to learn more about their faith. They start off in church and after about 15 minutes go out to their own aged related activities. At about 11.30am they rejoin the rest of the church for refreshments and fellowship.

Inspired
This group of young people meet together at 7.00pm on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month to praise God with music. They also choose and practise the hymns they will lead in our worship on the 2nd and 4th Sunday mornings of the month.

Please note that dates, times and venues of these groups may change because of circumstances. For the latest information, please read the Church monthly Newsletter or weekly Pewsheet – both available on the website. Otherwise do contact Jim (01473 827895).
